Sometimes the best tool for driving traffic lies right inside your noggin.  Look…. you want your site to get traffic and be popular.  People only go look at things that they find entertaining or educational.  Software takes care of mundane and tedious tasks.  It is what is inside your head that adds the quality.

Again, before you use software to automate traffic generation tasks such as directory submissions or article syndication, make sure you have some decent stuff on your website that people will find value in.  That’s the stuff that comes from inside your noggin!

Anyway, there are a few programs out there that can help.  They can automate submitting your site to directories, social bookmarking sites, and article directories.  You will have to spend some time setting up your accounts but once that is done, the rest is easy.
